Bi-fold Doors

Hi you good people



Roughly how much should I be looking to pay for Aluminum Bi-fold doors - I'd want them supplied and fully fitted.


The existing sliding doors opening is 2.5M x 2.5M.


Location is Kent/South London.


If anyone has any recommendations for good companies then that would also be appreciated.

£3K MAX, your sight lines wont be brilliant on that width.

Also when you say sightlines do you mean the aluminum frame breaking up the glass? Or have I misunderstood.


We've had a couple of quotes - £4.2k and £3.4k - so not a million miles away but I had set a budget of 3k.

Yes fitted but slightly dependent on brand/colour and you're London way so you'll get rinsed for that too.

Yes again, with a 3 pane you'll have quite a bit of metal on show, probably look better in a 2 pane that size but each to their own.

What system/brand was the higher quote?

I've seen a similar one in the showroom and it wasn't too bad re- sightlines. Is it even possible to get a 2 pane Bifold across a 2500mm opening?

Hi All


In the end I went for the Smarts systems Visofold 1000.


Hopefully that's a good make - they're being installed next month so if it's a dud system then let me know.

Its the bottom end of the market, its the system used by most fabricators who like to buy cheap.
Its been around a while so will perform ok if fitted correctly, there are better systems but you will be fine.

Alli is better than PVCu . visofold is ok as a system the locks are good . A few issues with the track but there is only one glide in a 3 fold , you can have 2 pane but it operates differently as all even number bi folds do (opening just the one way) London prices are always more expensive ive just done one same width but slightly smaller in height 2500 is tall btw for £2200 grey alli & eurocell supplied

Can anyone help me - we're in the middle of an extension and I'm looking into getting bifolds. What is the best make (price/quality) of bifolds and expected prices for 4m width (aluminium)?

price around locally . local companies are normally better to communicate with , they ofen buy bi folds in so get some quotes then ask . I only use a very few for bi folds , rather fit aluminium

We have just had some Ali bifold doors fitted in an extension, the guy who done it is a friend of a friend. He told me its roughly 1k a meter for Ali depending on spec and colour and a bit less for PVC. luckily for us we got mate rates, have to say I am glad we went for Ali over PVC.
