Gers, I'm glad you are ok after yesterday.

Steve has a blood test today prior to his appointment on Tuesday. They do them in the outpatients department for the haematology patients so hopefully it won't be as long to wait as in the pathology dept.

Apart from that we have nothing planned apart from probably a long telephone conversation with Chris. He always phones on his drive back from Wales (hands free) and stays on the phone for over an hour usually.

Jackie O, have a safe drive back to Kent.

    Morning everyone,

Lovely bright sunny day here in EA so WM is doing it’s thing with the bedding.

Off to see my eldest niece this morning to have a facial, a bit of pampering will be bliss and always lovely to catch up on each other’s lives.
We had a relatively successful mornings shopping yesterday, not too busy and DOH managed to pick up 3 tops he liked in JL which is surprising as he’s really fussy, now I just have to persuade him to have a cull of what’s in his wardrobe :D
This afternoon will be horsey time with the lovely Lu and then it’s the weekend again, how quickly they come round.
    TA hugs, just hugs x
Gers glad that you are not hurt in anyway but how bloomin annoying.
    JackieO safe journey home

Have a good day folks x
  • Good Morning people :hello:

How lovely to have a 'peep' into other folks' lives :)

i've not got anything particular planned for today - but, looking on the bright side, that leaves a day 'full of possibilities' :j !

Lovely sunshine out of my front window - looking towards Liverpool/Wirral - and I've got the WM going at the moment ......................... can't waste a day like this when you can use the line to get something dried ;) . Today it's the turn of a 'double-bed duvet cover' that was being used as a 'cotton throw' during the very warm weather. I really like my bedding to be a 'size larger' than the bed, so there's a good over-hang, which means this particular cover is really 'redundant' apart from during hot summer months :D.

My right knee is recovering from recent replacement, so may take the opportunity to got for a bit of a walk later on - should do it some good, besides earning me 'brownie points' with the physio :rotfl:!
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

I was reading at 2 am. OH had a coughing fit, he went back to sleep, me? it was 5am before I drifted off.

CA has been so OH is showered and dressed, sun shining so will be having a short walk again today. Towels in the washer, will be able to dry them outside.

TA sorry you had a problem with the bags, hope you manage better tonight. Forget the house work, you need rest. The house work will still be there long after you have gone!!

Jackie, I hope you have a safe journey home, not too much traffic.......

Gers sorry to hear your Mum is not well again and that you got sideswiped again, lorries going round roundabouts fill me with dread, I try to get in front of them if I can, they do have a tendency to swing to the right. Hope your car can be fixed ok.

Aldi had no bread flour or yeast yesterday, so had to do a comparison between the shops in Melton, Tesco and Sainsbugs bread flour was cheaper then Morrison. So I need to have a trip to get flour in stock, it is shooting up in price. Will also get SR and plain flour as well. I have cleared a couple of shelves for supplies.

Gardener due today, OH has done him a little list for after he has cut the grass, things he wants taken down or cut back, we have an empty green bin which is good.

Fish, chips and peas for supper. I have enough jelly left for dessert.

    Afternoon.

My trip to the Coachworks went fine though the chap there did advise me to report the accident to my insurers as the other party may well do. I'll speak to them for advice as I'm prepared to pay for the repair myself. Just a real pain, but in real terms it's only a machine and it's nothing vital. :)

Snoozer a few years ago I had a friend/ work colleague who would ring me when he left Leeds and talk all the way until he reached Newcastle. It helps while away the journey (all hands free of course).

TA - a result! And tidying etc can wait, some things are more important.

Thanks for all the thoughts. It was a bit of a shock, everyone I've spoken to tells me that that particular roundabout has accidents on it every day. Grrrrr.

Right, off to feed mum, read and file work emails and then close my eyes for a wee while.

I have come back to tell you all that for many years at work, my chocolate brownies were requested, nagged about and demanded at any given opportunity. And I rested on my brownie laurels.

    My son's brownies are better.

I now have NO eggs, NO butter, and I need to check what else he's used up.

    Hello Olliebeak from another 51er
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Afternoon all.
    Rant alert !
I've had a couple of dreadful days as nothing has gone right. In no particular order...... Mr Fix It 's injection was ok but he's not been 100% since, the chemist didn't have his cancer tablets and that resulted in a Brian Rix farce . We went to Dad's for me to change his bed etc and for Mr Fix It to cut his hedge. The hedge took us 3 hrs :(. Dad also wanted other trees cut but we couldn't do it as we were worn out.We said that next year he will have to get someone in, which went down like a lead balloon. He's afraid he'll have to pay and apparently everyone is out to fleece him . I told him that Sunday lunch is off this week too as I have too much to do in the house before we go away. So the miseries took over, knew that nice Dad wouldn't last and now he's ill again. (Cynical me thinks it's partly because we are going away on Monday too.) He did say that he wouldn't mind if he passed away in the night....... I asked him if he could wait till we've had our holiday :rotfl:.
DD is not at all well with her IBS and anxiety and has been back to the GP, twice. I feel so useless and unable to help her :o.
Joan also had a fall over her back step and Mr Fix It had to go around to pick her up, good job he was in the garden to hear her call out. I was shouting from the bathroom window that he was on his way, as I was mid hair colouring  She wasn't hurt but just unable to get up.
Rant over, thanks for letting me rabbit on :o
So today we have taken some stuff over the 'van, been to hal*ords for some toilet pink and called in Al*is for some shopping ready for the holiday. It was quite busy and there seemed to be a lot of miserable/ ignorant people in there.
This afternoon I've done a load of washing and hung it out and Mr Fix It says I've been in butterfly/headless chicken mode, trying to sort out holiday clothes :rotfl:. I have to work off a list and he's not helping when I'm trying to cross off my things and he's calling out X pairs of socks, X T. shirts etc for himself, I wish he'd get his own list ! I think I'll do that for next time.
Tea tonight will be a sausage roll and chips for himself and I'll have a jacket potato with cheese. There are some strawberries and cream left so that's pudding sorted.
Tonight will be pottering along sorting out van stuff and I must wrap DGS present ready for tomorrow.
TA I was glad to read that Mr TA is back home and I know that he is in safe hands with you as his nurse. I hope he can recover quickly now. Hugs to you both.
Gers I'm glad you're ok after your bump but I was sorry to read that your Mum is not well again. I shall send healing vibes.
Nelski what a pair.....Your Mum and my Dad, they deserve one another. Have a hug from me xx
    Olliebeak Hi
Right I'll shut up now !
Take care and hugs all round.
    nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently
  • Well now OH is on the road to recovery of a sort, I need to get back to menu planning. Since he went into hospital and came home I have just grabbed something from the freezer. The start of a new month means I need to get hold of the expenses again. Do a freezer audit and plan with what I have in stock. Spending will be mostly on fruit and veg.

Aldi did not have any bread flour yesterday, so I did a comparison and today went to Sainsbugs and bought 3 bags of strong white and 3 bags of wholemeal flour plus a bag each of plain and SR. That should keep me going for a while. I make a couple of loaves a week.

Hoping to get a better night's sleep tonight!!!
