AO.com Warranty

I've always been someone who has avoided purchasing extended warranties, but I'd like people's opinions on a warranty I've just been offered by AO.com.
I purchased a fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher from them four years ago when moving into a new house.
Somebody from AO.com called me the other day to offer me a protection plan on these particular items even though they are 4 years old.
The cover is for Breakdown and Accidental Damage, and they will either repair or offer an equivalent replacement.
The cost comes to £19 a month for all three items.
Normally I'd dismiss it but as the items are now 4 years old I'm thinking at least one may fail in the next few years.
The washing machine does have a slight leak on the door seal and the fridge/freezer has some internal damage to the runners and one drawer front is broken. The guy trying to sell it to me said this type of thing is covered.
They have sent me the paperwork and there is no mention of pre-existing faults excluded, or an inspection to prove condition of the items.
What do people think, is it worth taking out?, given the age of the items, and the potential to get some existing faults fixed at some point?
Equivalent Replacement costs I estimate as follows:
Fridge/Freezer £350
Washing Machine £300
Dishwasher £300
I have a few weeks to decide whether to go ahead or not, so I'd appreciate people's feedback.

Have you checked whether there is an excess to pay for each callout?
That may help you decide. If not, if it were me
I would look to saving the 19 pounds and adding a little and buying a new appliance (the one that most needs replacing) and repeating it until they are replaced.
My thinking is probably flawed but I don't think an appliance that is 4 years old is that old really.
Good luck0 -
Personally would not take the plan. If it takes time to settle, get an expert oppinion etc, you could be without items for a while.
I got a contract on my phone, and within a year it got stolen. I received a second hand, like for like, but my replacement was a beaten up, dropped and repaired but the same model replacement in exchange for a pristine one... the small print.
Are they going to fix your fridge? are they going to find you a 4+ year old like for like replacement, or are they going to refund you an depreciating value of the broken item. And if there is no replacement? Replace a large fridge with a small branded one as they measure like for like in value, rather than size, or vice versa? If they do any of this how long in months will you be without a fridge? My current fridge is about 15 years old, but I bought my mum the exact same model and it lasted 3 years (kept the door open). my washing machine is also about 20+ years old has given me no problem except in about year 7 from a blocked rubber hose drainage pipe. Will they be fixing other peoples old free scrap for £229 (+ vat?) a year to find you a replacement?
Personally would rather save my cash and buy new.0 -
Save the £19 a month & you can buy a new appliance every 18 months.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

This is my thought on any extended warranty; on average you'll be better off avoiding extra insurance. Just pocket the money and replace/repair when needed.0
