Large parts of the A21 are still just a cart track that's been widened to A road width. I don't supposed anyone cared about the safety of junctions and bends when everything moved at the speed of a horse.
But then, living at the bottom end of that road, it's frustrating when the road gets slower and slower every year as new speed limits constantly spring up along it. Give it a few years and it will be 20MPH speed limit all the way from Hastings to Tunbridge Wells.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
