Hi, I am on an IVA with debt around £13K. I might be in the position soon to pay off this debt and am wondering that if I do pay the debt off, will I remain on the so called black list and if so, how do I go about getting my name off of this list? Thanks

    There is no 'blacklist'.

Look at all the credit reference agencies and see what credit is against your name, CCJs, defaults etc

How are you going to pay the debt off, and still be acting within the terms of the IVA?

Your history will repair itself after 6 years from the start of the IVA, but you will have to declare it if asked.

    Hi,

What do you mean by black list ?

Your debts are only recorded on your credit file, and certain creditors internal systems, no where else.

Defaults/CCJ’s/public information all stay visible for 6 years, that information is then extinguished, as if it were never there.

Your name is not on any black list, that is simply not true.

On your other point about settling your IVA, you need to be careful here and take advice first, as any windfall would need to be paid to the IVA anyway, if the money is a gift, then that would be ok.
