How can I kill the bushes behind my house?
Options
I have just purchased a new home and we are in the process of clearing the garden which was very overgrown.
When we got to the end of the garden we soon realized the massive overgrown bushes at the back are actually behind the house in a small inaccessible lane. They must have been growing for years but are now towering well over our garden wall.
We cannot get into the lane to get the roots so is there anything we can do to kill these bushes off from above? Anything we can pour onto them?
Thanks

You can't go killing bushes that don't own, but you can certainly cut off the overhanging branches.0

Nobody owns them I think they've grown from our garden as we have a crack in our garden wall, they've obviously got very out of control and the council have no way of getting into the lane to clear it as its severely overgrown.
I'd rather not have to trim them down from our wall height every couple of months it would just be easier if they were gone. I just need to know how to get rid of them0 -
I think you would have to check with the council if they are under a tree protection order first.0

Assuming that you are ok to clear it; you can try glyphosate on the leaves, which will probably do the job after a few weeks or a couple of months. Any idea what it is, and how large?
Cutting it at the base and repeating as needed is quicker.0 -
If anyone can see the picture from the above link it may make more sense. They are in a small alleyway which has completely overgrown and nobody has access down this alleyway as its similarly overgrown at both entrances, this is just behind my house and I just want to get rid of it. Hopefully you can see the picture.0

I'd be chopping that into in pieces and then cutting it off at the base. When it comes back, spray it with glyphosate when there's a reasonable amount of growth.
I'm assuming that the other side has solid ground that you can't easily dig into.0 -
The problem is I cant get to the other side...its in a lane which is inaccessible0

Sorting out the problem of this inaccessible lane is probably the correct answer, no? Otherwise you'll kill it off and something else will grow in its place?
It would then be sorted permanently. As of 24/11/2020
