I think the outcome for customers will depend on who will be running the combined group. Npower has had a bad customer-service reputation which it will be glad to lose and SSE has had a relatively good reputation (in the context of energy suppliers, that is) which may suffer if nPower is running the back office.

There's also the question above the heads of all those who work at the Npower and SSE contact centres... are their jobs being made less secure? It seems mergers only benefit those in power.0

nPower is German owned.
Always seems incredible to me how we willing sell out essential national infrastructure to foreign owners. Seems incredible short sighted.
Mergers rarely if ever benefit staff or end customers.0
