Apart from the damage to my ceiling due to the slow response by the leaseholder, I also couldn't use my computer setup, which is in the same room, and I was working on a project that had a tight deadline and this was massively affected as a result. I have a special workspace setup that cannot be moved due to the amount of space it takes. I'm really stressed right now as the leaseholder doesn't seem to care much about me not being able to turn on lights in my flat nor about the financial loss I'm incurring due to inaccessibility of my workspace.
I smell BS, can't be moved and can't be conveniently moved are somewhat different. Everything is possible at a cost, financial, emotional, or both. You will find it hard to prove your loss in court and I can't see your laid back neighbour volunteering a payback.

I would focus my effort on resolving the issue at hand and minimise the impact to your future insurance premiums, rather than going on a wild goose chase, seeking compensation for the above.

Thanks for your reply - I do live in a very small flat and my setup takes most of the bedroom that has the leak. It's a three monitor setup that's all fixed to the table hence the moving is not an option specially with no space anywhere in the property that accommodate unless I throw out a few things. Anyway, my main concern is that the neighbour being irresponsible to get the issue sorted swiftly when she already had seven days! I'm not too worried about the claim for loss of work after reading the replies here as it looks like a lot of hassle.
