CPN sent e mail regarding reasons home assessment for ESA would be better one week ago.
Still not heard back, telephoned assessment centre, they still do not have document showing up on their computer.
Date for assessment next Thursday 6th Sept, have been told to phone back on Monday to see if letter is on computer. Is that enough time for them to cancel appointment for Thursday?

Yes, that's plenty of time. Remember that you can only cancel once.0

I have not cancelled at all and don't intend to, the ball is in their court to reply to medical practitioners documents. It's up to them to change the date, either way person I'm a carer for is unable to go due to his ill health.0 -
If an e-mail sent a week ago hasn't appeared on their system I very much doubt it ever will. Assuming you have a copy of the letter, I'd be inclined to call them and ask for a fax number to send it back through. Also get the name of the person you are speaking to and ask them to note on the system that you have called.0

I have phoned twice today and both said phone next week to see if it has gone through system.
I was concerned because assessment date is the 6th. May be it takes a while to go through.
Esa50 sent in 10 months ago.0 -
Sadly, 10 months from return of ESA50 doesn't surprise me. Over a week to get an e-mail to the right place does, but if that's what they are saying....0

Telephoned today, they received letter from consultant. Assessment centre says dept they haven't made a decision yet so they have given an appointment again for three weeks time. Hope they decide over the next few weeks this has dragged on for 10 months.0

Got a letter late this afternoon appointment is cancelled they don't need to see him and folder getting sent back to dwp.
What happens next? I know he can't be taken out of support group without face to face.0 -

This isn't correct, he can either be kept in the Support Group or placed into the WRAG. He can't be found fit for work without a face 2 face. You/he can ring DWP and ask for a copy of the assessment report, this will give you some idea what the decision will be as they mostly go with the report. Other than that you just wait for the decision.0 -
The unpredictability of his illness makes him a danger not only to himself but others too. There is no way he could attend appointments in the wrag group. He has daily carers and cannot function without support.0

Phoned up dwp as esa assess the forms have been sent to them, was told nurses assessment report says severe functional disability on it.
How long will it be for a decision to be made?0
