Reading a book and Tasmania is mentioned quite a bit.
Looks interesting.
Just wondering if we could spend two weeks there.
We aren't beach or pool lovers.
We are in Singapore so it wouldn't be a long trip for us.

It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

Two weeks sounds a bit long, perhaps consider combining with Melbourne.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I’d suggest 10 days maximum. Hobart is very nice and you could spend 4 days there fairly comfortably. There’s a terrific modern art museum (MONA) which you get to by boat from the harbour. It also has an interesting penal colony (Port Arthur).
In the centre of the country there’s Cradle Mountain which is beautiful and has walks of varying ability.
In the north you have Launceston which is pleasant enough for a couple of days.
Both Launceston & Hobart have airports so you could fly into Hobart and out of Launceston (presumably both via Melbourne).
Melbourne itself is delightful so definitely worth a few days. I’m fairly sure that it has two airports so if you do look further into this you should bear in mind that one of them is a fair distance from the city.
I went in their spring and Tasmania was decidedly cooler than the mainland and I understand that that’s normal. Both climate and the locals are more akin to NZ in my view. You’re unlikely to scald yourself getting into the sea!0 -
Funny thing about Melbourne was that we weren't impressed.
Was OK but no wow.
And we somehow missed all the good food.
I was talking to my doctor about this and he had studied in Melbourne so told me next time we go he'll give me a list of where to eat.
Melbourne was below Perth, Sydney and Adelaide in cities to visit in Australia. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
I enjoyed Melbourne and Sydney was also great but I caught a very heavy cold and spent 2 of my 4 days in bed there so it's difficult to compare.
We took a wine tour out of Melbourne which was excellent.0
