I took out an endowment mortgage in the 1980's. The loan part was from a building society and the policy was from the Prudential. Would PPI of been added to either of these?

No. Not possible to have PPI with an endowment. The loan will have had interest added as it would have been clased as a mortgage.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

And endowment is a life assurance policy. It is not possible to have PPI on a life assurance policy. PPI covers debt.
It was possible to have MPPI on the mortgage but wasnt common in the 80s and the misselling didnt really begin until the early 90s and you can still buy MPPI today. So, theoretically possible you had it but not probable that it was missold.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
