Cistermiser 'No Touch' Cistern Flush Problem

Hi All,

I have a cistern with a Cistermiser 'no touch' infrared sensor installed which I've had for about 5 years. It has a battery box (4xAA) and you just put your hand near the sensor for it to flush as its connected to a motorised valve.

Now its stopped working. Recently its become more and more difficult to get it to flush and I've changed the batteries but it's made no difference. The power is working as when you connect the batteries the red light blinks (as its supposed to) but after that it does not respond to a hand. I've checked the battery box, voltages and connections of the leads and all seem fine.

I assume the problem is the sensor but its totally sealed and they cost nearly £100 to replace. Anyone got any experience of using these or advice on solving the problem?

Many thanks,

MrO
