Plastering over artex on walls and ceilings

We've recently had a few plasterers over to quote for re-skimming our living room, stairs and landing including both ceilings.
All of the walls are covered in artex (quite thick) and each side of our chimney is currently open so these would need boarding up.
We've only had 1 plasterer come back and quote which was £1,450 for 5 - 6 days work. Does this seem reasonable?
I was just wondering if anyone had something similar done as looking through the forum I can only find quotes for skimming artex ceilings and not walls.
