Mountfield 1228H Ride on lawnmower, replacing cutting deck belt - now - What Ride on mower to buy?!

Ah, I never see them go off on the final journey and I never know which one comes back to me in a cardboard box for the freezer.
But they are very well looked-after, have a good life (for a sheep!) and they wouldn't have a life at all without meeting a need, either to provide food from marginal land, or to have lambs.
The lack of local slaughterhouses in some areas is a serious issue. The farmer I work with hates having to go long distances with his animals. He sells most in the local market, and the few that go to slaughter are also transported by him because he trusts no one else.0 -
I'd stick to the tractor and topper for 5 acres. Choose a Kubota over etesia for a ride on for neat areas.0

Update on the Troublesome Mountfield and replacing the Cutting Deck belt.
Repair man came out and he couldn't get the blinkin' pulley wheel out either. Hubby felt slightly smug about that....Repair man finally managed to wrestle the new belt on by pulling and bending the pins that retain the belt onto the pulley and then bending them back again. Not an easy job.
The new belt lasted about an hour.....
Had a long chat with repair man along lines of "Why is this thing shredding cutting deck belts? Surely they should last a bit longer than this...."
Anyway - he confirmed that all adjustments are fine, pulleys are fine albeit unable to get them off their spindles, the belt is not too loose, and it is the correct belt (although we didn't buy a kevlar one, maybe we should have).
His reasoning is that I am trying to ask too much of the machine, with long grass and driving too fast. While the grass is very long (due to machine being out of action....) I was very careful not to drive too fast, and had the machine set for the highest cut.
We have another spare belt so are going to have to wrestle with the beastie again to try and get it on - or spend another £80 squids getting repair man out yet again.
Any words of wisdom out there on this one? Is there anything else we might be missing? (other than get another machine!!)

My BiL always seems to break the belt on his mower cutting the long grass but I fit a new belt and cut the grass successfully, takes about 4 passes though to get it cut and not picking up on the first couple - can you set that one to side eject / mulch rather than pick up as picking up long wet grass clogs the cutting deck which can damage the belt. Also make sure the belt is not catching on any of those guides that were bent - been there done that one !0
