Solar or Electric Velux Windows?

Does anyone have any advice over whether solar or electric velux windows are best?

Unsure whether the solar windows are good enough to store energy. We need to get some velux windows for our loft conversion, we are getting a couple of manual openings but also wanted to get a couple that have the rain sensor, so we can leave them open without worrying whether it will rain or not whilst we are at work! I assume the solar ones are easier to fit (save costs on electrician) but they will only be good if the solar energy doesn't run out and not shut the windows!

Never had velux windows before, so complete novice.

Also, would you recommend we purchase direct from Velux https://www.velux.co.uk/ , a uk distributor or let our builders purchase on our behalf - don't know what would be cheaper?

Can't comment on solar but our electric one has been opened more times this year than in the previous nine with all the hot weather we've had. So glad we went for electric rather than manual as it would have to be opened with a pole thing, being too high to reach.

I can confirm the rain sensors work. It was a bit scary the first time I let the rain close them as the window is over my computer desk.
