  • If the retailer failing to cooperate make the section 75 claim with credit card provider.
If the decsion in in your favour they would likley to issue with the full refund (as opposed to partialrefund due to wear and tear by the ao.com)

To clarify: your statutory rights (under CRA 2015) are with ao.com, as the retailer. This is the harder option, as you will have to prove a pre-existing fault.
Your other option (or you can do both) is to send an LBA to Hisense's UK service agents under the manufacturer's 2 year warranty That might get you a response.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

i just followed the advice on here after 6 weeks of battling with hisense warranty service....so i went back to amazon this afternoon where i purchased the tv from almost 2 years ago and started a chat....they initially tried to connect me to hisense and so i quoted the consumer rights act 2015 at them....there was a long pause....then he came back with a courier slip and the offer of a full refund. the whole thing done and dusted in less than ten minutes.

A big thank you to all who take the time to offer their assistance with informed advice that lives on for many others like myself.

It's to be expected that "one hit wonders" regularly leave the site never to post again, but the OP of this thread has been active as recently as September of this year.
So, yeah OP, a poor show. :)

    ok....
So going from what happened in Sep last year...
I couldn't get anywhere with the warranty with Hisense (the agents who act on behalf of Hisense in the UK, which is based near Sunderland)…

I sent photos (best view possible from a camera) to show the faint line down the screen when watching TV/xbox , etc..
It all went unheard (no response), and calling the tele number relating to the warranty was beyond a joke... Longest I let my work phone stay connected to the "queue" was 54 mins, and I recall the call being answered, and hung up on....

Talking to AO.com , I sent a mail with photos and a description of the issue, and stated that as the purchase was made through AO.com , I would expect a TV to provide a quality picture for longer than 1 year. I merely mentioned the CRA2015 , but stated I was not happy being passed around and getting nowhere, and would like AO.com to take ownership of the issue..

Just before end of Sep last year, I got a call from a guy from AO.com , asked me to resend the photos.. I did that, and then he said "ok, I see the fault, we will swap the TV out with another unit of the same value for the price paid for that TV" …….

    I was like "Wow !" i'm a customer being listened too !! :D:D
I asked if I could pick a different unit at a higher cost to move away from the Hisense brand (don't get me wrong, I think Hisense products are really good, I was just unlucky with that unit)…..

Guy said no problem, I just pay the difference.
As it was, I had wheeled and dealed when I bought the unit in 2017, so had some good discounts back then, so picking another 65" unit was gonna cost me either way !

Short story: I found a 65" Samsung 4k telly on AO.com which cost £950. I found the same unit from a small retailer in handsworth/Birmingham, to which AO.com had this retailer on there "price match" list.....
    The unit was £100 cheaper.
I then asked ao to meet me in the middle given the hassle I had and go halves with me, which in all fairness to AO , they did....

ie: I originally got the hisense TV for £700 (discounted).
the replacement TV was £950, price matched down to £850.....
I should have paid £150 difference to get the new unit, but we settled on me paying £75 difference....

    End story:
I had a problem, and no matter the time scale, I went back to the retailer, and pushed hard to get assistance, which I got in the end.
The retailer (AO.com) = treated me well as a customer, and resolved the issues, and then some!

The agent acting for Hisense warranty = UK Warranty Ltd...…..
These are the biggest waste of space ever for a consumer.

As for my poor show, yeah, always better to make a public post slating an OP, rather than taking 30 seconds to send an OP a message asking to update a thread, given you can see the OP is active.... hey ho......
