Electric Shower Switch left on!!
Hi All!
Me and my other half have just moved into a flat with an electric shower. The type where the water just wont come out until you have switched on the big red switch.
Problem is, we KEEP forgetting to turn off the switch. Its really high up, not eye level and we're new to this so keep forgetting!
Leaving the switch on, even though the shower isnt running... is this gonna make our bill cost way more, or does it not make much of a difference? What goes on while the switch is on and the water is off??
Thanks very much! :T

It is minimal, just like any other switch that show's it is on. the elect only kicks in when you put on the shower button. It is only there to show the shower is ready to use. We often forget too.0

My switch is on the bathroom ceiling with a string pull cord.
It has a big red light on it when switched on. I still forget to switch it off sometimes though.0 -
The big red switch is the isolator switch which is required under the building regs: leaving it on uses no power at all. The heating element in the shower only comes on when water flows. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
