Morning everyone,
That does not sound right at all TA think stern words are very much needed. Don’t know if it’s applicable at all but when Mum was in hospital we brought in a few family pictures to stand on her cabinet, her with grandchildren, her looking fit and healthy etc, helps as a reminder to staff that they are dealing with a human being here not just a body in a bed. Just a thought?
It’s a bit dull here today, cloud cover, not a bit of breeze, all a bit bleurgh really. Need to crack on with the ironing and housework this morning, I have a couple of hours work to do after lunch then will pop over to see Lu. Nothing overly exciting to report.
Hugs to all poorlies or those caring for poorly loved ones, have a good day folks x0 -
Morning, grey skies, pink clouds and a breeze here. Rain is promised for later!
Once again I've got development sessions to attend today. I've got four to sit through, it's made easier by being able to dial in from home. The new whizzy EE thingy makes things so much better.
TA - I can only agree with whats been said already. It's so tough enough without any of the rubbish stuff around getting proper care, it's so tiring. You can ask to speak directly to the doctor / consultant in charge of MrTA's care, make a list of questions beforehand as it's so easy to get taken off track.
Right, off to get ready. I wish everyone a happy Tuesday.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
TA get onto PALS and raise the roof, I have put in a complaint about OH's treatment when he was in hospital, they will investigate and do something about it. Is it not possible to get him back to your local hospital where he was happier?
I did not wake until 3 minutes to 8 this morning, just had time to get dressed before the CA arrived. OH was restless and when he wasn't coughing he was snoring. I would sleep in the other room but if he needed me in the night I would not hear him, I am very deaf in one ear and not so hot in the other.
Its a grey cold morning and quite cold. I want to get OH out to walk round the close this morning, he needs to get a bit more mobile. He has requested cheese pie and beans tonight, have the last of the crumble to finish off.
I did manage to sew round 3 of the blocks yesterday, nothing fancy just straight stitching 1/4" in from the sashing, I may use one of the fancy stitches on the border round the quilt, will see.
Off now to get a wash, breakfast is finished.0 -
Morning for Mehefinland
Hugs and spoons to those in need especially the TAs.
Just a dull old typical winters oops summers day here. Recycling men came early early so some stuff got missed ( just have to go in next weeks now).
Was watching the Edinburgh Tattoo last night. The Omani drum horses were terrific, and by golly those ladies were giving it some welly. Wish Scooby and Bruisemare could see that lol. They get sparked up enough at a little daschund down the road from us. I never would believe how much noise could come out of such a little dog!
Right back to lurkdom
Take care all

Morning all
Dry day here atm but cant put any washing on as I am expecting the plumber any time and he is going to want to turn the water off. hopefully by the end of the day I shall have working hot water in my kitchen and at the weekend OH can put my kitchen back together :j
Yesterday at dd's OH put the door back on the wm, hung a mirror and fixed the outside tap her boyf had had a look at these jobs but is just not very practical, I did more cleaning with dd so its getting there we are wiping things down with white vinegar which is helping with the nicotine smell :T
Our garden men are coming tomorrow so OH and I cleared it out as much as possible for them there is only a bench to move, OH could not do this as he is suffering with his back atm, I have no washing line till they have finished so it will have to dry indoors for the time being.
TA as always I am thinking of you both, give them both barrels today re his diet xx
Chorizo sausage whirls for dinner tonight with rice and peas and I might fry an egg for the top !
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly.
Hugs to all those in need especially the TA's I got PALS involved when MIL wasn't getting the correct treatment.
Chilly here and overcast, I've cleaned the windows inside and outside on the towpath side, we need to move again as we are on a short term mooring and the water levels are too low for some other moorings to be useable.
There is an apple tree on the bank nearby, so I might go scrumping in a minute.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Hello
Another day of grey, grey ,grey
I would rather it rain than this as it makes me feel so down, so some sunshine would be much better for me
. So who's got it today ? Please could you send some my way, just for medicinal purposes you understand
.
This morning we have been to town to the B Soc to do some money juggling ready for our holiday. I like to have some emergency money in the bank in case of a SHTF moment. It can be reinstated if it's not used. I had to buy Mr Fix It a birthday card today, as we're away again on his birthday. I also went to Primani to get DGS a couple of T shirts, really to wrap up his new Xbox game. As he's 9 on Sat ( blimey where has that tiny baby gone  ) we have told him that his present this year will be clothes :rotfl:. The look on his face said it all, but we reminded him that he had already had a set of gaming headphones, so hopefully he will think we have only got him the T shirts
. Oh aren't we cruel, good job he has a sense of humour similar to us ! I also bought a padded jacket for me for when we are out walking, as it is lightweight and goes in it's own stuff sack.
I have stripped the bed and the bedding is in the WM at present, I shall hang it out and hope for the best. I will remake the bed after tea when it's had an airing.
Later this afternoon Mr Fix It has his oncology injection, I dislike these late appointments because they are never on time
but it must be done, no two ways about it !
Tea tonight will be a quick something, there's plenty to choose from in the cupboard/ freezer with oven chips.
Thanks Holly for the start off
TA no wonder the NHS gets a bad rep at times. Everything must seem like an uphill battle at present, I hope things get sorted asap. I am in your corner fighting with you ! Many hugs to you both. xx
Nelski I am under no illusion about Dad, it's probably the calm before the storm . Hope bananagate is a no go today and Mum is all sweetness and light :rotfl:. Well we can but hope ! Sending positive vibes anyway
Take care and hugs to all
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Good afternoon - I will try again
Thanks for the start Holly :T What a nice surprise for BH Monday
AOD, sorry to hear you are not sleeping
but the day you have planned sounds ideal
Camelot, what a good mum :A You would think that as he would be getting paid he would do the prep work prior to painting - whatever happened to taking pride in doing a good job? Re your swimming - is the pool like a sauna?
TA, so sorry about MrTA. The NHS seems to be failing you badly - I just hope that now the BH w/e is over you can get something sorted. I am sending gentle (((hugs))) to both of you.
nmlc, exactly the right attitude :T hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised but if not, as you say, you are now back on track :T
Nelski, Lainey, Gers, Csarina, mehefin - grey & overcast here too (Isle of Dogs)
but the sun is trying to break through & there is the odd tiny bit of blue sky
bellabella, good luck with the housework
could you send a bit of house cleaning mojo my way
redruby, fingers crossed for hot water
Hester, have you stopped listing? Sorry I meant has the boat stopped listing :rotfl:
nannywindow, if I had some sun I would be more than happy to send some your way
You have been busy this a.m. :T I have no kids of my own but teasing them is always something I thought I would do :rotfl:
I had a little spurt of activity this a.m. - phoned bank, went shopping - took the opportunity to walk to sm (as it wasn’t raining :T) & got the bus back. Everything put away - managed to find a bit of freezer space
Currently having a coffee, writing this post & feeding the pregnant squirrel - when she doesn’t just help herself :rotfl: She is sat on the decking 18” from me
She is a cheeky little thing but does give us hours of pleasure :rotfl:
Well this isn’t getting anything done - so I will get off my jacksie :rotfl: once I hit send. The plan is to do a bit of baking - DSis has requested rock cakes & I would like to restock the biscuit tin then a bit of housework, start dinner & then sort out cards for October & November birthdays :rotfl:
Have as good a day as possible

TA - DH hasn't been moved to Preston has he? I'm sorry to say it but my parents experienced just that sort of lack of care when they were there and it seemed to pervade the whole place.
Mehefin, we saw the Tattoo live and the Omani's were my favourite. The bagpipe horses were beautiful, I'm sorry they weren't shown more last night and as you say the female drummers were really going at it.
We're back from our New Forset break and Steve has nipped to the hospital for an ultrasound on the lump in his neck. I'v emptied the van and am about to clean it, just taking a quick break.
It was quite a busy few days, on Friday we met relatives for a meal and a catch-up. Saturday we cycled to Wimborne and back, it was about 23 miles so my rear was a bit sore! Sunday we stayed in all day as it threw it down. Yesterday we took the bus to Bournemouth, train to Christchurch and then walked along the sea front back t Bournemouth. All in all we walked 10 miles. We also ate lunch at a place Laura worked at when she was at Uni, nearly 15 years ago. It's a seafood restaurant and is still very good.0 -
Evening all.
My day has moved through being bored to being riveted. Training sessions very dull, especially as for two of them we had all done the mandatory online training ages ago. Going over the stuff again was just meaningless.
The riveting came from watching The Bodyguard episodes one and two. I'm not usually one for this type of serial though I could make an exception for this.
I've also de-tangled the beaded curtain which my cleaner had just jumbled all up. It's now in the small barn waiting for the fly invasion next year.
I hope that things are stablising in TA-land. And I hope that banana-gate was avoided, falling into waterways not done and generally only good stuff happening.0
