Do I need to install security for my Android Tablet?
I have free AVG on my PC and assumed that would cover tablet as well but not sure.
I don't buy anything or do any banking etc on my tablet ( I use PC for that) but now need to use tablet for stuff like this as my P is out of use at the moment.
Please can someone advise?

You can get avg from the playstore on android. Its free but does offer a sub for extra functions.0

Please stop using AVG on anything. That is such a bad choice these days.
And no point on tablet unless you like to install dodgy software (this includes stupid click bait from the play store).0 -

Your reply makes no sense in relation to my point. I made no indications of any suffering you might incur, feel free to google why AVG is not good. It was last usable in the XP days, so over 10 years ago. (probably more).0 -

a big NO! only slows it down0 -
I would rather have it slowed down at the moment then wide open if I have to put personal details in and do banking etcballyblack wrote: »a big NO! only slows it down0 -

The main issues with tablet security is that they run in a secure environment already.
As such security software does not run privilidged and cannot really do anything useful.
Running it or not you are still subject to issues if you install the wrong software.
Noty installing it is the only option.
This is mainly from outsidethe play store. However thing in the play store can only be bad to some extent. However you shoulf pay attention to the permissions you are giving software and shoudl understand if it needs them. This is what I mean about clickbait software. usually pretending to be something it is not/ apps will not speed up your system in any way for example, and the one's that offer to usually have ridiculous permissions and steal data, though like I say running in a sandbox nothing is going to steal the browser (or app) data (unless it was written my a moron, unfortunatly common these days!). So do not worry.0 -

You are confusing a tablet with a PC which needs an anti virus of some sort.
So do not worry as above rec states

You mean it doesnt stop click bait? Your previous post gives the impression you will get it because you have avg.The main issues with tablet security is that they run in a secure environment already.
