Bluetooth 2.0 or 4.1 USB Dongle

Is there be any point in me changing my Bluetooth version 2.0 USB dongle to a version 4.1 for use on my HP Pavilion Windows laptop as there are not any drivers for Windows 10 and it just come up Generic Bluetooth Radio?

I guess you know the answer already. If you connect anything or are likely to connect anything that requires a minimum of higher than the 2.0 version then replace it. Otherwise theres no rush i think.

It should, Win10 has it's own inbuilt drivers for Bluetooth versions up to 4.1

IT depends on what you're using bluetooth for, if it's just for mouse/keyboard then you wobn't see much difference. But if it's for transmitting data (i.e. speakers or to/from compatible phone) then 4.1 is much faster.

I would argue to replace it if anything you can connect it to is capable of using better than BT 2.0, not if it requires it. Better speeds, more stable, better distance, etc. 2.0 is very old now.

Yeah i guess. Its a qustion of how essential that is though. If 2.0 is serving its purpose......

You need what is called a Bluetooth Stack. The best that you can get for free is the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack.
