  • At least 10 times a week. Bin it and don't reply to them. Just a version of the 419 scam which gets you to pay a "small" fee which gets bigger and bigger.

I usually post these letters back, WITHOUT a stamp, telling them to send cheque, less fees.
Amazingly, some get as far as USA, because they have answered, reminding me that I forgot to send the fee.
Disappoitingly I have not yet received any cheques HA HA:D

    :T

If you ever get a fake cheque, stamp fake on it and frame it, or drop it into you local police station. I know people who have (using drop boxes to stay safe!) collected millions of dollars of fake cheques.

It's a good way to hurt the lad as a good fake cheque can cost up to $25 to produce.

(He will send you a check 'for fees' and then come up with a reason for you to deposit it and immediately send a % of the deposited funds to a friend, or to a colleague, or to someone else via Western Union. You get hit by your bank when the check bounces for the full amount. This is a very common scam on e-bay, small ads, craigslist, gumtree, etc etc.)
