Airbnb Hell - Compensation help needed

Personally wouldn't book an air bnb in a foreign country as a woman and young child, just pay for a hotel.0

I’m so sorry for your experience!
Pre baby days have taught me to never touch air b n b with a barge pole !
For my sisters hen in Amsterdam of 13 girls the host sold the place we rented for a higher price the day before and cancelled less then 24 hrs before check in,
Of course booking anywhere last minute leaves lack of choice and the costs are so much higher!
Air b n b would only refund us our initial costs not the additional amount we had to pay for somewhere to stay , which was alot more for less quality , we had to go in to a hotel and all be seperated. They offered us each a USD 50 voucher each for compensation! My costs from this doubled but they don’t care .
Try your best with them but I wouldn’t hold your breath !0 -
You could probably claim your out of pocket expenses, so the phone calls and taxis. What else above this are you expecting?
Personally I think Airbnb have been very reasonable in this situation and appear to have provided a reasonable remedy.0 -
I've looked at the listing. One point that could probably be misrepresentation, is that I believe the reference to the huge balcony, With the sound of the waves, actually I thought is referring to sitting outside the restaurant.
Also, as air con isn't included, it's irrelevant that the wall fan didn't work.0 -

Your claim can be broken down into 3 components -
* Loss of bargain (the difference in value between what you paid and what you got)
* Loss of enjoyment (stress etc)
* Financial loss (any costs incurred by yourself)Best wins so far - :jMini Cooper D, ITV Cash Prize, Family Holiday to France, £2.5K Holiday Vouchers, £800 Dinner Set :j0
