Yay, Woop Woop!! Congratulations on your OH job. That's fantastic and a huge relief.
I'm like you, i'm not ready to pop my SOA up yet for everyone to see as i want to make sure i have got everything included first. I think budgeting everything ahead for the month like YNAB is a great idea. I have just done this, and am waiting for my pay to appear in my bank tomorrow morning. Good luck getting all the info together.

    Hello.

Thanks for checking in on me Kindofagilr.

I'm going to update the debts list as things are pending out my bank for Monday. These are just regular monthly payments, but it is all helping to bring down the debts.

Dh seems to be getting on great with his new job. As suspected the extra money he is earning is being swallowed up by commuting costs, but at least it means we aren't actually losing money from his previous job. He has been roped in to working next weekend, so it will be a long 12 days with no day off.

On the plus side he will earn around £290 just for the Sat/Sun, which he has suggested we throw at one of the debts. We just can't agree on which one. He is desperate to pay of the scan £200 debt because that is currently on a BNPL plan and is horrendous interest once it goes on to monthly payments. He wants it cleared before the nine months are up. I want to pay off either the credit union or the council, as they are both high monthly payments right now. (£52/£50pm)

I've had to do a lot of juggling of payments this week, because of Dh and DS1's motorbikes. I have managed it and we will be fine. However, he has just had it MOT'd this morning and it needs a few things doing. He knows they need to wait until he gets paid, so fingers crossed he doesn't go rogue again and just book the bike into the garage.

I'm liking seeing these figures going down, even if slowly.

Having just updated my debts list, I am quite pleased with how well the figures are going down.

    Total original debt £31494.52
    Total debt at LBM £26054.17
    Total current debt amount £24656

We have shaved off £1398.17, just since starting this diary. and a total of £6838.52 from the overall debt value.

It is the monthly payments I want to reduce as quickly as possible. Paying over £600pm to debts is just not sustainable.

You are going great hun, that's what I focused on in the beginning getting the DD's down if you can, are they debts where they will decrease each month like a credit card or are the set monthly payments? xx

They are all set amounts. No credit cards and most of them are frozen accounts or overpayments, so no interest either. I think maybe 4 or 5 have interest, but I have included the interest added on into the figures anyway, so no nasty surprises.

Dh has finally got a grip of himself and logged on to the V12 accounts so I could get 100% accurate figures. (I had just had to work it out by how many payments I had thought we had paid) and amazingly we owe slightly less that I have logged :) I'll update the debts list with the new amounts.

I've been thinking today, that I still haven't heard back from Robinson Way about the Lloyds overdraft offer.

I've got one or two bits to sell, so need to get onto that. Nothing of great value, but I am going to save the money from the sales and pay off one of the smaller debts.

I seem to have lost sight of the little things that I can do towards becoming debt free. Things that would normally cost me money, that I can do cheaper, or even free, or things to make a bit of extra money. I am going to start listing what I am planning to do for the day/week in here to help me stay on track.

    Monday 1st October
    * List Givi box for sale
    * Take bracelet to jewellers to be valued
    * Ask Credit Union for settlement figure
    * Hang washing out on line
    * Make packed lunches for us all, for tomorrow

Looks like the money from any sales I make will have to go towards a new phone for Dh . He has killed his in work (again) I am so annoyed; he has only had this one a month and it cost £200 pre-owned.

I don't want to wish my kids lives away, but roll on high school so I can go back full time. I would be earning an additional 10k a year, but there is zero point doing that right now when 7k of it would go immediately out on childcare.

Feeling a bit stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I've advertised the Givi box on FB., but I think I will have a hard time selling it over winter. Most bikers will be storing their bikes away about now and any new bike purchases will be far from their mind. I'm yet to put it on eBay, so that will be my next job.

I asked the credit union for a settlement figure, but the lady who does it is off ill currently so it will be a few days. I told them not to worry and I will ask for one after our next payment has come out (next week) On thinking about it, we won't have the money until the end of next week anyway, so might aswell wait.

I have 2 pairs of adult (size 6 and size 10) roller blades to sell, but again, they are more of a summer item lol Maybe someone will buy them for Christmas as they have only been used once.

Not the most productive couple of days. I am trying though.

More fiddling with the budget is required later today.
