I am currently attempting to reclaim old credit card charges from M.B.N.A. . I have received all of my account information relating to my account that i cleared in 2004. i have sent all the template letters provided by this site. I have had the usual refusal letters. i know that my request is covered by a time limitation however i have seen references to the Limitation Act of 1980. I only became aware of a possible claim when i retired in 2016 and i started " surfing". All of the discussions about P.P.I. reclaiming alerted me to the credit card charges being reclaimed.I have referred my claim to the F.O.S. who have replied that they do not think that they can help me.ANY SUGGESTIONS. Thank you.

What "usual" refusal letters? If the Bank disagree that you were mis-sold, they must tell you why. What evidence do you have to counteract these reasons?

So your complaint is time barred?

    So definitely time-barred?

You should use a suitable thread title and not your user name as people often only look at posts based on the thread title.
I have had the usual refusal letters.

What do you mean by that?
i know that my request is covered by a time limitation however i have seen references to the Limitation Act of 1980.
That only applies if you are going through the courts. Not if you are using the regulated complaints process.

What you are complaining about? PPI or charges?

Are these "usual" letters in respect of the timebar?

hi. i am discussing credit card charges reclaim. are there any threads that refer to old successful claims for credit card charges specifically against m.b.n.a. .all the claims that i have seen are invariably from people who have or recently had accounts with the company involved. now whilst i am not naive to the business practice of companies, sites like these have and are beneficial to many people who do not have the knowledge nor expertise to start or conclude their own cases. the time limitation issue was raised both by m.b.n.a. and f.o.s. even though this claim has not been passed to court, which i am considering but would prefer to avoid if possible.

Very wise. Keep avoiding it. If the timeshare is valid, then you'll be pouring a lot of perfectly decent money down the drain.

Your query has already been answered. No one here will recommend legal action, or be able to assist you if that is the route you decide to go.

You are timebarred from complaint. The Bank and the Ombudsman have already told you this. You want to complain about credit card charges, but you give no reason why these should be refunded to you.

Despite Dunstonh's reference to the thread title, many regular posters have already responded to you and others won't tell you any different.

I'll just reiterate one more time, your only realistic course of action now is to give up.
