Changing Car Bonnet Colour.

Just repaint it. The colour shouldn't make a big difference in cost, except that anything with a clearcoat will cost a tad more, simply because there's something else to paint over it. Most of the cost will still be prep and labour, though.
I suspect that the cost is because the bonnet won't be the only thing faded, so they're looking to blend the wings etc in. If you're not bothered about that, then that makes it all a lot simpler.
Yes, if you change the colour, you'll need to tell your insurer. DVLA just know it's a blue car.0 -

you could also wrap it. black, carbon, whatever colour you want, for a lot less.0

But you should tell the insurer if you change it to black, as cars & vans with black fablon covered bonnets tend to be souped up a bit, so they must surely represent a bigger theft risk.
Best just to keep the original colour, or as close as you can, maybe they could cover it with fablon that matches?I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Might be cheaper to get a bonnet the right colour from a scrappy? Might even be about as faded as the rest of it. Changing the colour means informing your insurance company.0
