  • Thanks for all of your comments.

Like I said in my reply to jenniewb paragraph 6.

I will wait until after I renew my mortgage and do what I want after that process.

Yes, all credit including buy now pay later purchases appear on the credit report but only if the lender reports to the CRA(s). Additionally, the buy now pay later aspect does not appear in credit reports, it's recorded in the balance of the account as a monetary figure.

I don't know of any 0% card which has deferred minimum payment. Yes you will get 0% APR for a period but you still have to pay the minimum payment every month. The Argos card however has buy now pay later and won't charge a minimum payment but has deferred interest. If you don't pay by the due date you pay interest from the date of purchase.

why come to a forum where people bend over backwards to help and then make sarcastic remarks to them when they give you the advice?
Advice is advice - take it or leave it, but dont ask a question and then have a go if you dont like the answer
  • Hi craig1981,

Sarcasm?! I’m not so good at it. I like to get straight to the point.

I am not having a go at anyone.

I have thanked everyone with a positive reply. As I have you.

I was simply raising the point of the inaccurate reply I had from jenniewb. It provided zero clarity on an area I was looking advice on.

Clearly if my tone “sarcasm” is how you interpret this, I respect that.

But, there seems to be quite a few more answers on this thread I created, being very helpful indeed Sir.

You would have to pay the minimum payment anyways as if you don’t you will lose the 0% deal. The card or loan will show up on your files via a search and also to show what accounts you have.

What a lot of nonsense you speak of ! Not showing up anywhere.. really ?!

sarcasm, contempt, call it what you want, no need for it when someone is offering help/advice

clearly Jenniewb is doing something wrong with her 12k posts and 11k thanks
  • Craig1981 what exactly have you brought to the table ?
    Apart from vent at me...

The thread had moved swiftly on from my first reply from Jenniewb to answers with substance, I suggest you move on too...
  • So, OP just doesn't want anything to show on their current account linked to repayment of some other debt - presumably because that might suggest to a prospective lender that there is less available cash to service a mortgage.

Two things occur; firstly, it depends what you are buying as to whether the credit repayments can be deferred long enough not to show on your bank account until after getting your mortgage decision. Secondly, you could talk to the lender and say what you want to do and see what they say.

Presumably any kind of payment showing as coming out of your bank account (DDR, cheque, debit card, cash etc) is to be avoided if you are to get the result you want, but it still won't make any difference because your credit file will show you have a debt owing even if you haven't started paying it back and the mortgage provider will see this anyway.

I think you have the best idea to wait before buying whatever it is and then hope that you do have the wherewithal to service both your new mortgage and this new debt at the same time.
