Gregory Pennington PPI

Advice appreciated please for my next step...
18 months ago I tried to claim PPI from GP (gregory pennington). I had found an old statement dated 2012, showing I had been paying PPI.
I had no recollection of discussing this and as I have a degenerative muscle wasting condition I suspected I had been mis-sold. I certainly would have informed them of this if they had asked me any health questions which I assume they would have.
GP rejected my claim stating that I had reasonable time to know about the PPI especially as I had a statement.
I then contacted the ombudsman service and spoke to an adjudicator who decided my claim couldn't be passed to the ombudsman due to the claim being brought outside the time limits set by the FCA.
She wasn't interested in the pre-existing medical condition mis-selling side of things and basically said I had been aware of the PPI. Her decision was final and so I never had the opportunity for the ombudsman to review my case.
I have since contacted GP again asking for copies of the documents I signed at the beginning of my account with them, plus other information that they would have included with the welcome pack. They haven't provided this information after me chasing them a couple of times and have now stopped communicating with me.
I genuinely do not remember anything about PPI when I signed up with GP but even if I did, surely my condition would mean I was mis-sold.
I know I can go down the Plevin route but I'm owed so much more and really feel very angry about the way I have been treated not just by GP but also by the ombudsman's adjudicator. When you are advised to take it to the ombudsman it's not explained that first you have to get past someone else who will decide if your case can be looked at or not and that not all circumstances are taken into account.
I basically have left this for a while feeling defeated and not knowing what to do next.
Now I'm ready to do battle again. I estimate I'm owed at least £1300 from GP and to quote Meat Loaf, (GP are lemons and) I want my money back!
I would like to start again and start a new claim for PPI but am unsure of the best way to approach this. Has anyone else had a similar situation?
Thanks in advance.

That confirms you are timebarred. Her decision was final and so I never had the opportunity for the ombudsman to review my case.
If you are timebarred, then no-one looks at your case. The timebar prevents it.I know I can go down the Plevin route but I'm owed so much more and really feel very angry about the way I have been treated not just by GP but also by the ombudsman's adjudicator. When you are advised to take it to the ombudsman it's not explained that first you have to get past someone else who will decide if your case can be looked at or not and that not all circumstances are taken into account.
That is very much explained if you choose to read the ombudsman brochure or the details on their website. However, it is irrelevant in your case as you are timebarred. Now I'm ready to do battle again.
Why? You have been timebarred from complaint. Your complaint was over. Only plevin applies to you now.I estimate I'm owed at least £1300 from GP and to quote Meat Loaf, (GP are lemons and) I want my money back!
You are you not owed £1300 and you wont be getting £1300. Your complaint ended when the timebar was confirmed.I would like to start again and start a new claim for PPII am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
