OPUS upheld PPI Claim

Hello everyone,
I have received an answer from Opus in which they offer me a payment for misold PPI.
At first I got pretty excited, but now I wondered, why they are so quick to jump to an offer? Should I maybe seek advice from an Omudsman to see if I can squeeze out more of them?
I am not being greedy here. Considering they ruined me financially with an APR of nearly 50% I have no remorse lol.
Any advice if it would make sense or do you guys think the amount offered must be pretty accurate with what is owed? Also any experience of how long it takes until you actually receive the offered amount?
TIA

The redress is defined by the Regulator as a full refund plus 8% interest. Contacting the Ombudsman if your complaint has been successful is therefore a waste of time.

Why does everyone say this when they're being greedy?

Because an upheld complaint requires them to follow the FCA prescribed redress calculation and tell you what that is.

It isnt a haggling competition. The calculation is set by the FCA.

    Really?

  • this makes me laugh. you've been watching too many CMC adverts where they claim you are entitled to amounts upwards of XXX. there's no such cap. it's defined by what you the individual paid. then an FCA guideline defined calculation is made. no you aren't owed more. don't waste FOS time.
