What do I do if dodgy seller does a runner with money & goods???

Hopefully someone on here will be able to help me!
I bought a pair of trainers of Ebay & when they arrived they were blatantly fake. The ink was all smudged & they didn't even look like the ones in the picture. To cut a long story short, the guy says that if I send the trainers back to him he'll refund me my money, including the postage.
But my question is, where do I stand if he keeps the trainers & doesn't refund my money? I paid by Paypal with my credit card.
Thanks in advance

IMO its acceptable for a seller to ask for item/s back before they refund you.I bought something once and wasn't happy and was asked to do the same as you are being asked to.It was a case of keep it or send it back and hope for the best.I sent the item back and I got my refund. On other hand hubby sells stuff and someone complained that a box a teddy came in was damaged and they wanted a refund or replacement as it was a present. They had to trust us and send item back before we sent them a replacement, which we did as soon as we received item back.BUT as they have already sold you fake goods I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.....
If you do send them back to him send them recorded/signed for so you have proof he has received them....might be helpful in the future if it goes belly up.As I said before though....I wouldn't hold out too much hope as hes tried to con you once already with fake goods.
As soon as someone knowledgeable comes along you are sure to get advice on chargebacks from paypal in case he doesn't give you your refund.
Sorry I can't offer any more than that.
HTH:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Would Paypal definitely refund me though? If not, could I go through my credit card company?0

He is a Power Seller. His feedback rating is 2370 (98.5%). In the past month he's had 413 positives, 9 neutral & 7 negatives. His feedback is private though. He only accepts Paypal as payment so I don't know where he lives yet. I need to get back in contact with him to get his address. The trainers were sent from China so I hope he doesn't expect me to ship them back out there!0

Thanks for all your replies. Well I'll take the risk & send them back today. He says he's going on holiday on Thursday so I'm going to send them Special Deivery so that they get there by tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get my refund!0
