Council tax registration

Hi,

I'm having some issues with registering my property for council tax.

I'd like to know if there is a public record of houses that are and are not registered for council tax?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Kind regards,

Little Fonzy

Have you built a new house?

Have you changed a property from commercial use to residential use?

Have you split an existing property into multiple properties?

Houses that are not registered for council tax are usually (but not always) on the Non domestic rates valuation roll, you can check using the post code, if its council tax or NDR on the VOA website or SAA in Scotland

If its not there at all you will need to contact your local Assessor to find out why, as the Council will only bill for Council Tax after receiving notification to do so from the assessor.
