If it didn`t sell in the years you mention it must have been well over-priced, or something else wrong with it IMO.
  • Here's a couple of long shots, but they might explain it.

    1) There's a fellah near me who's forever putting his house on the market and taking it down again. He treats it as a bit of entertainment cos he likes having people come round his house. He and his wife are an eccentric couple that seem to thrive on arguments. He relists his house when his wife is "not pulling her weight", he says she only ever cleans properly when it's on the market ha haa! Then once she's "back in line" he takes it off the market again.

    2) My cousin has a stunning house in a great area. He has an exact figure that he wants for it. So he puts it on the market, the offers don't reach his figure, he pulls it off and waits a few months then puts it back on again.

I'd say it's very unlikely that is will explain your house, but you never know. There's nowt so queer as folk....

Thanks for those excellent replies. I'll certainly be getting a full survey done. I noticed online the house was for sale in 2012 at exactly the same price it is today so maybe it was considered too much back then.

It's not likely to be under threat of coastal erosion but would certainly be exposed to the elements on a windy day.

Will see what the survey throws up and take it from there.

    Thanks again

Should have been more chance of getting someone to overpay back then though?

What’s the area like? Some places with sea views are in tourist areas, these can be a ghost town out of season, and have holiday let’s as neighbours.
