Euro Car Parks PNC - not received notice

Hi all! I know there are a lot of threads on Euro Car Parks notices, but mine is a unique case. My vehicle is registered to my home address as I am in the army and therefore have no fixed abode. I had parked in Euro Car Parks in Rye and had exited the premises 6 minutes overtime. This is my fault entirely and I am glad to have paid the £40 parking charge. However, there was no notice left on my car and I have not returned home in months, I missed the first parking notice from ECP dated May 2018. I have also subsequently missed the notice from the debt collection agency dated July and August 2018. I have been unable to return home due to pre-deployment training overseas.
I opened the latest letter yesterday (23 August 2018) and immediately got in touch with the debt collection agency and ECP. I have not admitted liability, but tried to explain my situation. I wanted to tell them I would gladly pay the £40 overtime charge, but not the £140 late penalty charge as I was not aware. However, both companies simply said: "We can't talk to you, talk to the other [company]."
Can somebody please help? I accept that it was my fault for exiting 6 minutes (it was stated in their letter) late, but think a £140 late charge is too much. I'd really appreciate any help, as I will be deploying soon.

Did you read the newbies thread, post 2? Where it says your cirucmstances do not matter?
Did you read ANYTHING about the required 10 minutes grace period?
STOP CALLING THEM. IGNORE THEM.0 -
I'm sorry, I must have missed the part about the grace period in my moment of panic. Thanks for your reply! Now, I can't believe they have the audacity to send PNCs within the grace period to unknowing customers. I'll leave this post up for others (who might miss the grace period part) like me! Thanks again0

Wow, so pleased you didn't pay the £40 at the start. Ignore debt letters!
I doubt this was for a 6 minute overstay, though. That is simply NOT possible. Maybe your paid at a machine, but put in the wrong VRN or a typo?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
