  • Do you want to stay in practice or go in to industry? Industry attracts higher wages but as a minimum just after qualifying I'd expect £35k.

But OP has a history of dubious questions - last one being 'How much can a self employed heating engineer earn?'

I'm not in the least surprised. 20+ years ago the practice I was training at employed a chap who was fully qualified (trained at PwC) who didn't understand double entry bookkeeping - the most basic concept.

The likes of PWC are chock full of qualifieds who don't understand double entry bookkeeping. :)

The sad thing is that they will believe any old carp you produce, as long as they can fill in all the boxes on their checklists. That's one of the reasons you get all these accounting 'scandals' such as Carillion etc.

    agreed

any genuine accountant would be on the receiving end of numerous "messages" from the main recruitment agencies listing their annual salary surveys and as part of their CPD they should be reading at least the AA monthly rag

  • You should be getting 30k minimum with experience, probably much more than that.
