Is there a watchdog that can look into this? FCA perhaps?0

They keep asking for name, address and details of shares held. I have supplied all this many times except the certificate.

As per my answer a few weeks ago at post #11, I don't believe that there's a regulator (the share registration part of Equiniti is separate from the FCA-regulated Equiniti Financial Services business) but you should be able to get more information out of them via the Data Protection Act, have you done this yet? They keep asking for name, address and details of shares held. Have you written to Equiniti with the information requested and obtained a written response?0

Thinking about it, Equiniti write to small BT shareholders on a fairly regular basis inviting them to sell their shares. The form makes it clear that you don't have to, but is structured in such a way that some people might fill it in thinking that there is some kind of requirement to do so.If the shares were sold, there should be some evidence of the sale - have you checked his bank account?
So it could be possible for someone to sell their shares without really making a conscious decision to.
If I remember correctly, there is also a box on the form which allows you to donate the shares to charity - which would result in no payment to the holder, and possibly no further correspondence.
But until the OP has been in touch with Equiniti and asked the right questions, none of us will know what has happened."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
Give that a go
