Should I complain?

I don't know if it's the right place for this. Apologies if it isn't.
I ordered a shop from Tesco to be delivered on wednesday.
It was the late slot. (9-11)
The van never turned up and they didn't call me.
Next morning my order was shown as delivered online but when I called, they checked and said the driver was running late and couldn't deliver.
The next available day for redelivery was today.
Delivery came today but they charged me the cost of a Friday delivery instead of the one I picked. I know it's not that much money but I feel that 1)they should contacted me (and not the reverse), 2) they should have apologise at least in the form of an email and 3) waived the delivery charge!
Do you think I should kick up a fuss?

Whenever I do an order I usually go for the latest delivery as well.. saves a few pence if nothing else!!
They will probably refund the whole delivery cost... give them a call they are usually really good!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Yes, I do think you should complain.
At worst they can only refuse to refund/compensate you in any way.
Do you regularly shop online with them...as you could mention this in your complaint.
You could have been really stuck if you were unable to get out of the house and were ordering essential items.

Yes, you should complain.
At the very least you have been overcharged, plus if there were any fresh items in your order they are now 2 days older!0 -
Their usual policy is to refund delivery cost if they are late, so that should definately apply in this case.. I wouldn't worry about food being older they re-pick the order (well that is what cs told me anyway).

I dont do home shopping, but if I did and this happened, I would complain, after all - its not your fault the driver is late, and a courtesy call to advise you of his would't have gone a miss either.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I had a bad experience with a Tesco delivery a couple of years ago, they didn't turn up and didn't call me. Without me asking for any compensation, I just rang up to ask what had happened, they deliverd my shopping with a £20 voucher and an expensive bottle of red wine (cubcard info came in handy as it was my favourite grape LOL) I also got a credit for the delivery charge so don't let them get away with an extra charge.0

Tescos are normally very good at refunding delivery charges if they fail to arrive on time. I am always on the phone to customer services ...That's Numberwang!0

So am I!!
And the 2 online order managers at our store (Sarah and George) now phone and say 'Hi, it's George/Sarah. How you doing.. you've not ordered much.. etc etc' (sshhh and any freebies.. I get extras because they know I have a large family and one sample box of muesli won't go far!)
Now.. not many people have THAT service!! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
