Birmingham conveyancing recommendations

We are purchasing a house in Solihull and we currently live in the jewellery quarter of Birmingham. We have been offered O'Neills Patient via London & Company (brokers) but have been advised not to use them as reviews mention they are slow and it would be best to find a local solicitor we can visit in person.
We've had quite a range of quotes, mostly between £1000 and £1600. We are first time buyers so no stamp duty costs here.
We are looking for recommendations of firms that have been professional and speedy please.

There is no real need for your solicitors to be in the place you are buying.
The type of solicitors that welcome personal visits are unlikely to be efficient0
