Bought a house off plan?

Anyone want to join me in the wait for their new build?!

We have bought a house off plan and have the completion date of 21-31st December! Fully aware this can change however! At the min the foundations are not even laid and the plot is just being cleared ready...

    All the best. 4 months is extremely optimistic if they havent even started.....especially going into autumn/winter.

    My newbuilt has moved date forward twice.
    Originally the told me "probably early 2019" and after the second jump forward they now tell me "Completion date 26th of September".
    Caused a bit of a panic

    The chances of there being any solicitors around to do a legal completion after 21 December is slim and none so after 21 December really means 2 or 3 January.

    Unless the developer has a calendar year end, when they'll almost literally move heaven and earth to get completions over the line...

    The building trade are even more likely to shut down over Christmas than the lawyers, so if it doesn't happen before everyone b*ggers off for a boozy lunch on the 21st it ain't going to happen before whenever they return in the New Year.

    And obviously, much more likely to be weather-related delays in the winter anyway.

    I bought off plan. When I reserved it in July, the foundations were already laid and it completed 20th December. Its a bit optimistic, Feb is more likely
