Morning all
Things have been so quiet in Mehefinland that I haven't really had much to say, so working on the old adage of 'it's better to say nothing and be thought a fool than open mouth and remove all doubt'.....
Hugs and spoons to all those in need, especially those battling horrible illnesses.
Right, back to lurkdom

Plumber came promptly armed with huge mega-plunger. He had to work hard for half an hour to clear a tough old blockage. All done and I need not have cleared out the under sinks cupboards. Still, it's a good chance to sort out stuff later.
TA - sorry to hear about your beloved MrTA's health. I know you are both having a rough time. My gentle hugs are the best I can offer so I hope you're getting better support from family, friends and the professionals too.
Back to the kitchen for me!0 -
I am with Nelski, we are all worrying and sending our love to Mrs TA ,Nannywindows, Polly and all the poorlies battling with illness,
Northing we can say will change much but just to know your virtual friends are here for and are all sending good vibes . Gers hopefully the ABs will help your DM.
Life can be so cruel at times ,and yet at other times quite wonderful.
Today the sun is shining and the family are all off to see a petting farm I shall stay in the house and keep an eye on the dogs this morning ,probably catch up on a bit of reading in the garden as well.
Then its Colwell Bay and crabbing this afternoon and the dogs can have a swim in the sea as well.
This week seems to have flown by, holidays go far too quickly I think
Tack care of each other chums

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
TA I know exactly where you are coming from which is why I refused to have hOH home until I had a care package in place. I would advise you to get in touch with social services tout suite.....you just cannot carry on like that. I know to my cost. I know you want to do your best for him and look after him yourself, but the time comes when its just not possible any more. You have to be a bit selfish and look after yourself. My thoughts are with you and your family every day.
Up and at 'em, breakfast over. OH has been showered by the CA. Friends coming around 9am to move out the old FF so I can clean the sides and the space where it has stood. A chance to clean the floor and walls it has not been moved for 3 years. No idea how long this one will be before its moved.
Update.....
Friends been and gone, freezer on the front, walls and floor cleaned and the freezer cleaned inside and out. So what ever time they arrive everything is ready. The kitchen looks like a bomb site, will have to wait for the gas to settle, although the plug is at the back, so they will have to plug it in straight away, before they slide it into position.
Both freezer boxes are full, just a couple of things I could not get in have been rammed into the sewing room freezer.
Its a sunny morning but a breeze so not too hot.
Despite having fish last night OH has asked for fish again tonight, with chips and peas. I have banana, so he can have that with ice cream for dessert.0 -
Hello to all you lovely people :A
Had a late start this morning and just popped to Morries for the usual bread, milk etc. I decided to treat us to a piece of beef for Sunday........... because we're worth it :rotfl:. Seriously I'm fed up of pork, chicken and pie. Well just fed up with stuff really, but it will pass.
It was sunny when we went out and then as we were coming through the front door, the heavens opened, so nothing will be done outside today as the forecast is for heavy showers. This will give me an opportunity to clean the house, which has been neglected of late, so this afternoon will be dusting and hoovering. I have roped Mr Fix It in too and he has offered to steam clean the kitchen floor. I also want to make a fruit tart with the rhubarb that I stewed in the week. There are a few tee shirts in the ironing basket awaiting my attention, should I feel bored :rotfl:.
Ok, I think a light lunch is in order now. Tea will be breaded chicken steak in a bun with a side salad.
TA hugs back at you in copious amounts. You and Mr TA are in my thoughts.
Speky and Mehefin nice to see you both :hello::hello:
Dumpling hugs to you and your family.
Take care all and hugs to the poorly, the carers and those having a hard time with life in general.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
I've been awol from MSE for a couple of days; trying to fit so much more than I was into the days, with my own health not brilliant, and something has to give, so if my posts are sporadic, that's why.
TA (((HUGS))) I wish there was something I could do to help, I really do.
Speky that sounds like a great holiday; I often don't bother taking the netbook when we go away, it's good to get away from "tech" stuff for a bit sometimes. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
It's nice to see you posting LW, even if it is sporadic. I hope your health issues can be controlled.
Physio didn't come. When I tracked her down she was very apologetic and cited an emergency. Her office admin told me that DM wasn't in the diary, however all's well as DM is happy to wait until next week. I think the ABs are doing their job already.
I took a sample to the docs so that tests can be done for DM then did a 'Saturday' shop. Tomorrow I'm heading home extra early as I've got visitors arriving about midday.
Now going to read a bit.0 -
Hi everyone
I had a lovely morning with my little great nephew...he's 16 months now and such a little character. He ran miles up and down through the house and into the back garden, 'talking' away all the time. We had such a lovely play together.
Returned him to his mum about 2ish and then managed to get the front grass cut and most of the edges trimmed at the back....then there was a shower so I came in for a cuppa. It's stopped now so I'll go back out and finish it. I'm trying to get all my jobs up to date as I go on holiday on Monday night and then I'm back at work a couple of days after I come home.0 -

It'll all come out in the wash, I daresay.
Glad your DM seems to be better than she was, you must've been off your head with worrying. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Thanks; I'm just stressed with Mr LW's diagnosis, getting my head around it, and all the extra stuff like he's now got 5 prescription meds instead of 3, and I have to ensure he takes them all at the correct times, which are not all the same times as the original 3 while all the time dealing with my own brainfog issues.
It'll all come out in the wash, I daresay.
Glad your DM seems to be better than she was, you must've been off your head with worrying.
I made up a meds checklist for DM, one for each day with a list of drugs, when to take them and space for a tick. She's really good at checking them off. I've just done new ones to include the ABs until Wednesday. They change every week!
Yes, July was a very worrying time, she's still here and determined to last a bit longer. My stress levels are still in the high range though no longer off the scales. Others here are still having really tough times. The support levels from our great little group in OS are in line with my stress levels!
Now my DM wants a new built in oven and grill. :rotfl: The grill broke years ago and she keeps saying that it's not worth replacing then comments about missing it. I'm going to get it sorted, I hope!
