I'm trying to figure out how to use quotations, but Mr Singh is referenced in the links above to BAPI's site... and this one too, which was a most interesting read:
*snip*
I can't post that one yet unfortunately because of forum regulations for newbies. Fair enough.
Anyway, enough of anagrams (although there are some very funny ones to be had). EPS won't get any more pointers from me. At least for now.
Thanks for all the info so far. You've all been helpful in helping me realise that everything so far I've done has been the right course of action. And you've made me laugh- which is something desperately needed in this otherwise shady, depressing world of the PPC. I'll keep you informed over the next few days. But for now I'm pretty certain that the LBC does not conform with the PAP and will be studying this carefully.
Cheers everyone!0 -

If you want to put some copied text into a Quote box, when you open the Reply window, you will see some icons at the top of it - it's the yellow oblong box like a speech bubble you need. Press that then put your cursor in between the two parentheses ][ and paste there.

If you want to quote an entire post, hit the 'Quote' button at the bottom of that post.
Got it. Thanks!
Quick update, I'm now pretty sure that this LBC is non-compliant as it is demanding I get back within 14 days, when it should be 30. Nor is there a breakdown to the amount demanded to date, and the reasons for.
I'm now looking at robust ways to contest this 14 day demand (although I have an idea where they got that figure from.... 'Practice Direction for Pre-Action Conduct', and not the 'Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Recovery (PAP)'- both of which look very similar).
Tired as hell. Been up since 4.30am. Oh well. Cigarettes and more tea. :mad:0 -

A couple things I should now add, after reading and reading both this forum as well as the Pepipoo forums is that this LBC has the EPS logo at the top left, and not DRP or whatever 'debt collector' logo on it. It's most definitely and EPS logo with the standard three circles in blue. I may reproduce this letter by writing it out. It also includes the PCN number, the amount due (with no explanation to why it's at this new amount, and the vehicle registration number. And later down where the 'offence' took place.
To date I now have four documents including this one. It's demanding that I pay within 14 days and it refers to the Practice Direction for Pre-Action Conduct (which states 14 days, not 30) and a load of stuff asking me to identify the driver, which I still refuse, because they still haven't supplied me with the evidence I demanded earlier in the first two letter stages and during the IAS stage. Then later on it states that if I don't comply they'll set Gladstones on me. And then some blurb about increasing the amount even more.
So is this from a debt collector in disguise posing as EPS, or is it just from EPS who think they are now debt collectors, and if so does the 30 day period still stand, as the PPC are doing their best to suggest it doesn't.
Thanks again for your advice. I really appreciate it.0 -
Who knows who or what they are, or are up to.
I'd tell them to serve a proper LBC as per the PAP, or FRO until they can do so. Remind them that Gladstones very often c0ck things up when they face a MSE-assisted challenge, so bring it on, waste their money on engaging Gladstones. You are not afraid of their threats. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Surely that one sentence tells you this is nothing more than a debt collector's letter.
Ignore it.0
