Vista - Unable to connect bluetooth

For some reason I can't connect via bluetooth. I have done previously and checked all the obvious but my PC wont receive a file. My mobile says trying to connect, then connects and then immediately disconnects.

any ideas

Try right clicking on the bluetooth icon on your system tray bottom right hand corner and clicking prepare to accept files or something along those lines. I had the same problem and found that this sorted

My Bluetooth Icon keeps disappearing. You know the usual glitch that quite a few of us have with Vista. Anyway. If I double click the Bluetooth Wizard and then to receive the file it says that is is waiting for the file to be sent and stays like that. But when I turn my mobile on to send the file it connects and then disconnects or just says sending failed, yet my pc is still in the state waiting to receive.

What I found was that, by default, the Vista Bluetooth software pops up an "accept file?" dialogue box but *behind* anything else that's open!

Meanwhile, I'm sat there waiting for something to happen and, of course, the transfer times out because I wasn't aware the pop-up was waiting for me to click "accept"

Try minimising all your windows so that just the desktop is showing and then try transferring.

thanks for your help but it hasn' worked. I guess it's just one of those bugs or something.
