Nationwide e-Bond reduced from 6.70 to 6.50

I always like to praise NW (and I still do) but I can't understand this decision
Only last week I was thinking of opening up an e-bond at 6.70. I probably still will do so at this new rate of 6.50 but it's not as if the BofE have cut rates (yes, I know we can all quote swap rates ad infinitum:rolleyes:). Luckily, I have two LFRBonds at 6.70 so no real damage done. Yes, I agree i can look 'elsewhere': but NW always treat me right and i find them always convenient.
Have a really good weekend folks:wave:

I was going to have a go at the 6.7, but was seriously !!!!!! off with the 'pick 5 questions from a mainly stupid list', so sent the cash towards Birmingham Midshires (6.86) instead. Also still waiting for an old Portman account to be merged with my NW account.
I've found most banks/socities to be ok, but rarely had anything go seriously wrong. Glaring exceptions recently have been Sainsbury and Nationwide (and the Leeds haven't credited the correct interest for the last 3 years, but they do sort it and send me a few quid when I email them...).0 -

No I haven't: 6.90 is a fantastic rate! I have zero accounts with Derby, so am unsure how this will affect me - i'll have a look on their website. Do they send you a bond certificate like NW do?? Thanks as always BLF:)BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

since they asked me to pick the additional 5 questions and answers etc a few weeks ago they havent asked me for any of them upon a log in.
perhaps someone on here from nationwide can say why the existing security log in isnt sufficient.0 -

When I had a go at them about it, said would only be requested before "any unusual activity on the account" - dunno either. They haven't lost another laptop have they..?bristolleedsfan wrote: »since they asked me to pick the additional 5 questions and answers etc a few weeks ago they havent asked me for any of them upon a log in.

^:rotfl:That would explain the decision to drop rates. Now seriously, they are still one of the best I would say

snap, as long as nationwide keeps its pledge spanning years " not to charge for everyday services "

Nationwide did say all along that the 6.70 per cent bond was only available until 26 October. I opened one about a month a go and it was processed very smoothly and promptly.
I do like their online banking site.0
