Used car warranties
Hi there,
I have just bought a used 2013 Mercedes C-Class estate a C250 and I have been looking around researching car warranties but I am finding it difficult comparing one company with another let alone the different products.
Warrantydirect seem quite straight forward, as do click4warranty with similar prices for 3 years. Motoreasy are about 1/3 more, although not sure why. Warrantywise have been way more expensive again, I am not sure why.
Does anyone have any advice or thoughts on the best way to proceed? Any other companies that are worth investigating?
Thanks for any help

Personally I wouldn't bother with any of them. The things that are likely to fail aren't covered as they're classed as consumable and service items and of those that aren't the cost is going to be less than you'll pay out for the warranty.0

Find the middle price and put that amount away each year in premium bonds or savings accounts and use that to pay for any repairs if not covered under the dealer warranty period.
Get a credit card for anything major if you dont have enough money.
The only warranty that means anything is the main dealer extended warranties.0 -
The list of items these warranties tend to exclude from the outset, make them very poor value and not worth bothering with.
For example, they typically won't cover things like Turbos, clutches, gearboxes. To replace the turbo on my car is upwards of £1k.
Like all warranty or insurance products they will then wrangle with you about not paying for the things they say they do cover. Anything in heir terms (even minute) that you don't manage to stick to, will be enough for them to decline a claim.0
