Are eBay messages not working atm?

Tried to message a few people and I get an error saying unable to send your message right now

Tried a few different sellers and same message

A seller messaged me three times this morning, I have replied three times all went OK.

Just got that when messaging a seller I bought from and also a random seller! Don't think anything is wrong with my account as I can see the items I have purchased and can buy other items ect

There could be a problem, as I've had a couple of emails today from buyers who have said they tried to message but were unable to.

I had this problem around Christmas time and was told that it was because I'd sent too many messages in a 24 hour period!! Once that passed it was fine and I was able to reply via regular email to the copy of message in my regular email the buyer had sent. But at the time none of the CS could tell me what the limit actually was!! I'd only been selling for a few months at that point so had no idea there was a limit and could only have sent about 5-10 messages at most. Then during this week it happened again and when i queried it with eBay CS I was told that one recipient's mailbox was full and the other had been sending out too many messages so they had temporarily blocked them from messaging. Ebay say they're doing this to prevent off site selling but as I pointed out and directed them to read the message, I was being asked if i could gift wrap something and if something else came in a different colour!!

Hey just to update I tried the next day and all worked fine don't think it was sending too many messages as only messaged a certain seller once or twice that day! Must of been a glitch I think!

I'm a business on eBay and not receiving eBay messages, just PayPal. I have to manually check my eBay page to see if I've any messages. Weird.
