Good morning chums, bit overcast and cloudy with the promise of a shower or two today, but that will freshen up the air.
Nelski bless you, I wish I had the time but I don't think I could fit it in with everything else I do. I did a course a few years ago, and enjoyed it a great deal but it does consume a great deal of time ,maybe when we have moved down here to live, and the boys are a bit more off hand I might go back to it, who knows ,instead you get the odd ramblings on here
I write exactly how I speak, and when I am on here I feel I am just having a natter to a bunch of friends
.
We are all looking forward to DGD Katie and her OH Tom and DGS Jack arriving this morning from Portsmouth on the ferry with our gorgeous little Erin in tow.
My DD is very exited and can't wait to see her first little grandchild again.
Bearing in mind she has had five babies of her own, when ever Tessa sees a photo or video on her phone of her she just melts. Being a Grandma is so different from being a Mum I think. I just love to see how she so adores the baby.
Tessa and Katie were estranged for several years and the baby has brought them back together.
My Tessa ia such a maternal lady ,we were talking the other day about when we move to the Island to live and she says she would like to foster if she can. She is so used to having a big family around her and she has so much love to give bless her. At the moment her two little dogs are enjoying being fussed over.
The youngest one Ted adores her and almost bursts with excitement when she comes in from work. He is a real little character for a rescue dog and is full of bounce and very happy to have found a nice home He had been tied up and left in an old barn and was at deaths door and half starved when rescued, we don't think he had ever lived or been inside a house before as he was so weird when we brought him home and inspected everything and we had to leave all the doors open so he could go from room to room. .He now is a very much loved part of the family ,if a little exuberant at times.
How can people behave like that to an animal is beyond me
Other news ,well DGD Holly and her fiancee have landed at Gatwick about an hour ago from their three week holiday of a lifetime in Florida.
Her Mum phoned me a little while ago to say they were safely back on the ground
Holly is very upset though as she has lost the stone out of her engagement ring, I am hoping she's got it insured.
Well that's about all for this morning My son-in-law has just brought me a nice cuppa in bed and I am about to drink it then have my shower and walk the dogs with DGS Henry as he will want to make sure our step count is up
:):)
Hope everyone has a good day, and the poorly chums get some rest along with they carers I am thinking of you all.

Hello all, not feeling my best today, I've got a massive headache already
.
Thank you for thinking about us, it means a lot to me as other than DD, I have no one in RL to support me.
Anyway onwards and upwards through gritted teeth, determination and bl00dy mindedness !
Mr Fix It is on the phone giving the great nephew an ear bashing over his exam results which were not the best
. He was told countless times partying with his friends would not get him the results that he needed. I also blame his mother but when he's just 16 and 6 ft 4 I understand the difficulties she faced.
The WM is on and there is another small load to do, then I shall help Mr Fix It shed wise. I'm getting a bit fed up with it now and I am soooooooooo looking forward to my holiday in September.
Dad's coming to tea tonight and I found a bag of mixed meat in the freezer. A couple of chicken thighs, legs, pork steaks, spare ribs so I will cook them up and we can help ourselves. Probably do some potato wedges and corn on the cob too.
Hugs to all today and hope to see you tomorrow.

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Was not a happy bunny yesterday when I found out that the hospice had turned OH down. I needed to go shopping this morning, so had to leave him in bed waiting for the CA's visit.
I had to go to Aldi at Bingham as our local Aldi does not have the cheese we like, shock horror it has gone up £3.45 to £3.99. I bought 3 large blocks and have cut them in half and frozen them. That will keep me going for a while. Checked my receipt when I was unpacking they had charged me for 5 lots of eggs at 99p and 3 jellies at 39p I bought 1 lot of eggs and 2 jellies. I rang up and complained to customer services. I think the checkout person needs further training. I returned the cool box that I bought a couple of weeks ago, will have to make sure it goes through ok.
Was out of the house just after 8am and back at 9.10am the CA had just gone so OH was in his chair in the sitting room. Its a quicker journey to Bingham but a smaller shop, does not have the range that the Melton store has.
I got a form 6 pages long yesterday from County Hall to assess us for continuing care for OH. They want to know your inside leg measurement!! I have to do a search and photo copy various things for them to see what we are going to have to pay. Also got the bill in for the cleaning, need to print that off and send too as well as a receipt from the gardener for a months gardening. Is it worth it I wonder?????
Bright and quite warm, have the door open to catch a bit of breeze, no laundry today.
Starting to prepare for the new freezer tomorrow, I have to make sure the fridge etc cleaned, that will be interesting.........

Nanny, I'm sorry but that isn't an excuse for not parenting, DS Chris was that height at 16 (he's now 6'6) and I wouldn't stand any nonsense from him. He had to apologise if he was rude to me or Steve and couldn't do just what he wanted. True, he was one of Jackie's quiet ones but he had his moments.
Jackie, as I said Chris was one of the quiet ones, lacking self-confidence and suffered having an older sister who seemed effortlessly good at everything and was beautiful and outgoing too. He's come into his own and is a successful, thoughtful manager, hating all forms of bigotry, although he is still quiet, he's gained a bit more confidence.
e're off to the New Forest in the camper van today, but as we both woke up at 4.00 and couldn't sleep I don't know when. Steve is back in bed, fast asleep and I don't want to disturb him.0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly and hugs to all those in need especially the TA's, Csarina Nannyw & Poppy.
I've had my wheel nuts replaced after DD's near death experience, I'll take my car to my son and get him to double check them.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Evening!
Made it here by 11am in the pouring rain. DM not too well with a UTI so I phoned the doc who prescribed some ABs. Then I did my teaching though it's more like pulling teeth with this small group of 15 year old youths. :rotfl:
Tomorrow morning a plumber is coming at 8am to sort out the kitchen sink. When running water in one sink it fills up the second sink :eek:think it's got 40 years of gunk down the pipe. I'd hate to be a plumber.
I hope everyone is doing OK.0 -
Had a lovely message from the team at Osborne House to say thank you for the plant I was really pleased at their reaction and how nice it felt to have something go back to there after all these years
:):)
DGD and OH and baby Erin arrived at lunchtime with DGS Jack at the moment there are three teenage boys sitting on the floor at her level keeping her amused and her Mum brought her little sensory basket with lots of playthings in, and one of the boys is blowing bubbles for her as she is chuckling away with big gummy grins. She has turned three large lads into marshmallow with her smiles0 -
snoozer I'm with you on parenting, as I think the easy option was taken. I feel sorry for the lad as he has had quite a few problems in his short life
and none of them caused by him, but I kept my mouth shut after I'd had my say. We as parents, encouraged and helped our lovely DD at school / Uni, when needed and I'm very proud of her, her achievements and her attitude to others.
Gers I'm sorry your Mum is poorly again. Sending her healing vibes and a gentle hug.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0
