Its not often I receive over and above CS these days, but Nationwide deserve a mention.
It was regarding a payment to my Virgin Atlantic credit card, who have recently changed from MBNA to Virgin Money.
I made a payment yesterday totally forgetting that my new card was nothing to do with MBNA, and sent off £800+ to the wrong sort code and acc number. This morning I suddenly realised my mistake, and frantically called Nationwide.
They literally refunded the amount into my Flexaccount immediately, and said they would themselves get the money returned within 3 days from MBNA.
I was thinking it would be a right nightmare involving holding my breath for weeks seeing if my money would ever be returned to me.
Bravo Nationwide!!!

We have been with Nationwide for many years, and agree that their customer service is excellent.
However, unfortunately, their fixed-rate account interest rates fail to be competitive at present, and we have been looking at other banks and building societies.0
