VT Advice Needed

Hi there,
I’m wondering if anyone can help, I notified my finance company of me exercising my right to VT, we are past the payment marker and desperately wanted a new car.
I arranged for the collection agency to come and pick the car up on Thursday, however when they came, they told me they were refusing to take the car as it has a 1mm stone chip in the windscreen - tbis has now been fixed.
My question is, as the car was bought in August 3 years ago, the car is due for an MOT and it’s insurance is due to run out, both within the next week. As i have terminated the contract and sent away the V5 (as requested by the finance company) am i still the outright owner and do i have to have MOT the car for the first time in order for them to come and collect it this week?
TIA

I'd have thought so, as when they take possession of the car it won't have an MOT and they won't be able to drive it. They could say that not MOTing it is not taking proper care of it, like not servicing it at the main agents would be.
Why didn't you just get an MOT a few weeks ago? any non wear & tear failures would have been down to warranty. Now you might be pushed to get it MOTd before your insurance runs out with a Bank Holiday.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)
