Isn't it clear? Lack of a visa to enter Vietnam (not actually a valid reason, but it's what the ground staff stated to be the reason).

He was leaving from Dublin, people with an Irish passport need a visa for Vietnam, seems ground crew were unable to differentiate between a UK and an Irish passport holder.

Hard to believe that absolutely no-one on the ground in Dublin could see the error that ground crew had made.

Now I understand. No doubt complicated in that not all British passport holders are exempt from needing a visa. You need to be a British citizen, which not all British passport holders will be.

Statutory compensation levels for involuntary denied boarding is 600EUR, so that is the starting point.

I would also suggest posting your problem in the relevant section of the flyer talk forum. Depending on the airline, there should be experts on there with direct experience of the airline concerned.
