Hello all, I wonder if someone can help.
I have an old debt for £270. The default date for the account was 25/08/2012 and it was fully paid off in February 2017. I am looking at my credit record and it is still showing along with 5 missed payments from the months before it from March 2012.
It was my understanding that items dropped of after 6 years, however these missed payments are over 6 years old and are still there. I am now worried that the default isn't going to disappear in the next week or will they everything disappear at the same time.
Any help appreciated!

The account will drop off entirely 6 years after the default.0

The default should drop off 6 years from when the default was registered. If you had missed payments prior to that they will probably still hang around until the default itself drops off. Also keep in mind that it can take up to 6 weeks from the date the default should expire for it to be removed from your credit files, as many organisations only send updates to the CRAs every month, who then take some time to actually update your report0

Most defaults should just stop showing on the 6 year anniversary, they don't need to be told to remove them, the CRA knows to only display for 6 years.0
