Shower toilets and is wall hung a big job?

Options
I'm looking for a rimless shower toilet, but all the rimless ones seem to be wall hung. Anyone know if it's a big job installing a wall hung one and do any of you have a shower toilet, and if so , which brand do you rate?

What is a shower toilet? Like a Japanese toilet?

Wall hung toilets are additional expense, yes. Just the frame is in the region of £250 in addition to the toilet and there's a lot of extra labour.

Admittedly I had to google "shower toilet" - Yup, a Japanese one. Surely with all the electrics and extra piping, if it was not wall mounted, with all that hanging out would look odd and not so good, especially after paying out all that cash.

Those wall mounted one go onto a steel frame, some a bespoke steel frame. bespoke water container and flushing button, it is often a system/kit

My friend has Totos in his restaurants and that's the brand that I recognise as a popular one. They get some pretty heavy use, so they must be half decent.

I have a client who didn't want a Toto but I can't remember what brand he does have. That was a game to get fitted!

I've see the Geberit ones in action and I really liked them - mainly because the look more european and less bulky!

thanks guys.. it is the geberit aquaclean tuma I'm looking at. they have an external box bit called a monolith which looks like it houses the frame and then that goes onto the wall. Maybe that would be easier to install than a hidden wall hung one .

I was going to mention the monolith but didn't know if it was rimless!

It needs to be anchored, but it would certainly be easier than concealing it in the wall.

so high tech! I think the monolith bit is just the box frame, covered in glass, the toilet is extra, though. I do find the totos look a bit like aircraft loos! the geberit is def looks more like a regular english loo!
