Code 62 Parking with one or more wheel over a footpath.

Hi all,

I got a ticket when I stopped at KFC in Bexleyheath, I pulled in and a bus was struggling to get past me so I went on to the pavement. jumped out and got in line in KFC, I swear 30 seconds later I get a tap on the shoulder. Some guy says 'is that your car?' and there a warden ticketing me!

I know i'm wrong for parking on there but the 2 things that really annoy me are:

1) Surely they should give some sort of grace period, the warden must have literally been hiding behind a wall waiting for people to stop to get some dinner after a hard days work!

2) Look at the width or the footpath, how is it going to effect anyone? The council have got bins, bike locks, telephone boxes all one a side of the pavement nearest the curb because its so wide!

What do you think? should I just pay it?

Who issued the ticket, council or a private parking company?

If council, as we tend to major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there (but please note that a hotmail address won't work) and post a new thread; here's your link:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=30

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.

PePiPoo has an excellent success record in dealing with council tickets.

If a private parking company (PPC) which one please, then read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 which will set you on your way to dealing with the ticket.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
